The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bayelsa State Council visited Ms. Esther Peregba of Gbanruan Kingdom in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area to condole with her over the death of her beloved mother, Princess Thereza Peregba, whose funeral activities begin Friday, April 24, 2026.
The council also commiserated with the Iwolo family of Nedugo Community in Yenagoa Local Government Area following the passing of Barr. Ibeni Iwolo, father of NUJ State Auditor Dr. Grace Zuoye Iwolo.
NUJ Chairman Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha, speaking during the visits, urged both families to take solace in God as the giver and taker of life, acknowledging the pain of loss regardless of age.
He praised Princess Thereza Peregba's life as "worthy of emulation" and comforted Ms. Peregba to draw strength from it. For the Iwolos, he described Barr. Ibeni as a "fine gentleman" who advanced Nedugo Community and Gbarain Kingdom, urging his children to continue his legacies.
