Atiku/Obi will build a stronger, virile Nation.... PDP


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the Alh Atiku Abubakar and the Mr Peter Obi joint ticket as a rescue team that would build a stronger and virile new Nigeria if elected.

The Edo PDP Chairman, Mr Dan Orbih, said this on Monday in Benin, at the flag-off of the Edo South senatorial campaigns ahead the 2019 general elections.



Orbih who told the large gathering of party faithful and supporters that the party came with a message of peace and hope said that the present administration in the country had no solutions to the  Nation's problems.

He said that the forth coming elections were not about the candidates but about Nigerians who could fix the problems facing the country.

He noted that the party was prepared for the elections hence the campaigns to garner support and votes for every candidate of the party, adding that the party would resist any manipulation of the 2019 elections.

In his remarks, the Senatorial candidate of Edo South, Mr Mathew Urhoghide said that the present hardship in the country was enough, hence the need for all Nigerians to vote out the APC come 2019.

He noted that it was the responsibility of cover to cater for the welfare of her citizens, adding that any government who could not take care of the welfare of her citizens should way for another government that would cater for the welfare of her citizens.

According to him, "The election is not a contest against the APC, but against underdevelopment, hardship and suffering.

"A vote for the PDP  will bring about scholarship, more schools, institution and infrastructure development as well as give federal presence to the various constituencies.

" I can assure you that that PDP candidates are all determined to change the fortunes of the people not just in the State but the country at large".

The party chairman also received and welcomed into the party fold some defectors, who include Mr Benjamin Obaseki, a relative to Edo Gov Godwin Obaseki, as well as Brig Gen Idada Ikponmwen (Rtd), a chieftain of the APC in Edo.

Also received was Mr Saturday Oamen, Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Edo chapter.
