The incident occurred about 2:03 a.m. on Friday in their residence at Azikoro Village, Yenagoa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

A family source said the armed gunmen, about 12 in number, gained access into the house of the school principal after breaking in through a window.

It was learnt that on entering the house, the hoodlums pointed a gun at the victim’s brother, whom they used to force the principal and his wife to come out of the bedroom.
According to the source who asked for anonymity based on security concerns, when the Principal and his wife came out, their attackers shot at the house repeatedly to scare them and send a warning that they were serious with the operation.
The kidnappers shot Mrs Moron on the leg before whisking her away, the source said.
The family source said the 12 member gang divided themselves into two groups with two going inside for the operation, while 10 persons mounted guard in and around the residence.
The source said the kidnappers allegedly ransacked the house, stole some money and other valuables before leaving with their victim.
“’The hoodlums came in early Friday morning. They broke in through the window as they could not gain access to the rooms because of the security of the doors.
“They used his wife’s brother at gun point to force them to come out.
