The Niger
Delta Youth Coalition for Peace and Progress (NDYCPP) on Saturday applauded the
developmental strides of the Seriake Dickson led administration in Bayelsa
amidst the trying times.
The Coalition made which made the
commendation during a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa Ministry of Works and
Infrastructure, also lauded the Works Commissioner, Lawrence Ewhrujiakpor,
The group
lauded Ewhrujiakpor for his supportive role to the Bayelsa State Government
towards the realization of projects it has embarked upon, describing the
ministry as a backbone of the state government.
The National President of NDYCPP
Pastor Teidor Olayinka, while intimating the commissioner of the aims of the
coalition, also stated that the government has done a lot in the areas of road
infrastructure and health.
Olayinka
pointed out that the Tombia Bridge and the Bayelsa West Senatorial Road are
some of the numerous projects that have impacted positively on Bayelsa people.
Olayinka,
who said the coalition was established to build upon the ideals of the
government and also champion the cause of the Niger Delta by harnessing both
human and available material resources.
The youth
leader also used the medium to state the coalition's readiness to partner with
the Ministry of Works in the development process, soliciting for the
integration of its members in labour intensive construction projects.
In his response, Ewhrujiakpor commended
the coalition for its role in fostering peace and also sensitizing the public
of the achievements of the state Government.
Ewhrujiapor, who pledged to work
with the group, also tasked the coalition to continue with its sensitization
programmes to reverse the poor perception of the people of Dickson led
administration.
