Volume of Friday’s Bayelsa oil spill from OML 29 yet unknown, says Aiteo


 Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (AEEPCO), operator of Oil Mining Lease (OML 29) on Wednesday said the volume of oil leakage in Friday from its operations in Bayelsa was yet to be determined.

 

 

The management of AEEPCO in a statement by its Spokesperson, Mr Mathew Ndianabasi, confirmed that the incident occurred on Nov. 5.

 

 

Ndianabasi stated that the leak was reported from a non-producing  well head in its Santa Barbara South field, in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

 

Bayelsa community sacked by explosion from Conoil facility laments, seeks assistance

The people of Sangana Community in Brass Local Government of Bayelsa, have solicited for aid following a gas leak from Conoil facility which occurred on Oct 31and posing a serious threat to their lives. The community expressed their anxieties and concerns over the insensitivity of Conoil on Wednesday, in Yenagao during a press conference. Chairman, Sangana Fishing Union Ikomikumo Noel, said that the gas leak has compelled residents to flee, rendered the community homeless.

Gospel Artiste Uduak Daniel releases 5th album Prodigal Grace


Gospel singer, songwriter, independent recording artiste Uduak Daniel on Friday announced the release of her fifth album, titled Prodigal Grace.

 

 

 

A statement issued by the artiste made available in Yenagoa noted that the album is a production of the Dlyte Sound & Arts label.

 

 

Daniel noted that the album wlll become available for download and shipment from November 12, 2021

2023 Presidency: South-South Youth Movement drums support for Gov. Wike.

A support group, South-South Youth Movement for Wike 2023 on Wednesday urged the Governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike  to contest in the 2023 presidential election, assuring him of their total support.

EFCC opens money laundering trial of ex-governor’s aide’s wife

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision on Wednesday opened its case in the money laundering case instituted against Mrs Beauty Apere at the Federal High Court Yenagoa.

 

The absence of EFCC star witness had on Oct 20 stalled a N200-million money laundering suit against Mr Embelakpo Apere, and his wife, Beauty in separate cases before the court.

 

Apere  (Embelakpo) was aide on Sustainable Development Goals to Bayelsa’s former Gov. Seriake Dickson.
