Engineers (NSE) has appointed a former President, Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide, to its 2026 Professional Development Board (PDB).
Eradiri, a former Commissioner for Youths and later Environment in Bayelsa State, was reportedly considered for the appointment following his outstanding contributions to engineering development and professional advancement of NSE.
The 13-member board chaired by Dr Aluyah Okodugha, was charged with the responsibilities of facilitating the training and development of engineers by establishments and coordinating the activities of engineering manpower and engineering indices and and infrastructure report card committees.
Eradiri and others were also asked to formulate policies for sound engineering education in Nigeria and develop strategies for active participation of Nigerian engineers in the public service sector of the country.
The board was also mandated to formulate policies for sustainability of young engineers' forum and to design strategic timeline, cost plan and cost requirements for the bridging of the infrastructure deficit in all sectors of engineering endeavour.
The list containing the appointments and terms of reference was signed by the acting Secretary of NSE, Mr. Abdulkadir Aliyu.
Other members of the board are Dayyabu Tijjani, Vice-Chairman; Dr Dominic Akubor, Ayidu Christopher, Sony Ali, Prof Remi Uche, Prof Babagana Mohammed, Denis Dannia, Dipo Mabogaje, Olashehu Taiwo, Abdulkadir Maccido and Mrs Aisha Umara.
Eradiri, a Fellow of NSE, described the appointment as a privilege and an opportunity to serve the foremost engineering body an
d the country.
