Bayelsa governorship: Group drums support for state Board of Internal Revenue boss

A group of young professionals in Bayelsa, Ayawei Volunteers,  has thrown  its  weight behind the governorship aspiration of the Chairman of the state Board of Internal Revenue, Mr Nimbofa Ayawei.
Mr Kuro Peri-Ockiya, the Convener of the group, in a statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa on Thursday, said the group  preferred supporting the governorship aspiration of Ayawei  to supporting any other aspirant on the platform of the PDP.
According to Peri-Ockiya, Ayawei has capacity and disposition to the yearnings of the youths in the state.

The chairman of the Bayelsa board of internal revenue and 14 others have purchased the expression of interest forms to contest for the governorship position on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party PDP.
Also expected of the aspirants is the payment of a N3 million administrative charge  levy as stipulated by the state Executive of the party.
The aspirants who have collected the nomination forms include former Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Managing Director, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe; former cabinet member in the state, Mr  Reuben Okoya and an ex-militant leader, Great Joshua MacIver.
Others are the incumbent Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha Jonah (rtd.); a businessman, Kenebi Okoko; former Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mr Franklin Osaisai and Chief Benson Agadaga.
Rep. Fred Agbedi, Sen. Douye Diri, representing Bayelsa Central; Chief of Staff Government House, Mr Talford Ongolo; and Secretary to the State Government, Mr Kemela Okara, have also collected nomination forms.
