Sagbama-Ekeremor road, a dream come true for Bayelsa coastal communities- Commisioner


 Dr Agatha Goma, Bayelsa Commissioner for Local Government Administration on Sunday applauded Gov. Seriake Dickson for the pace of work at the 48 kilometer Sagbama-Ekeremor road project.

Goma, who accompained Dickson on the road project inspection told newsmen at Aliebiri, Ekeremor Local Government Area that that driving to Ekeremor was historic as the area was hitherto accessible only by boat.

She described the governor who initiated the ambitious project a consummate leader whose achievements have opened the coastal settlements to the world by road.

She noted that the progeess so far made on the ongoing Sagbama Ekeremor Section of the Bayelsa East Senatorial Road reaching Aleibiri in Ekeremor LGA will ended suffering of residents who endured risky six hours boat ride to the state capital.

Dr. Goma said the commitment of the governor to the completion of the road which will terminate at Agge, proposed site for a deep sea port has projected Dickson as a man who has his eyes on history.

The commissioner said the Bayelsa West Road which had remained on engineers’ drawing board for more than fifty years has been made a reality by the governor whose mantra of infrastructure is already transforming the landscape of the state.

She noted that Dickson's has by massive investment on infrastructed like the Sagbam-Ekeremor road shown that he is a true Ijaw patriot whose legacies will remain a reference point for generations to come.

“The Bayelsa West Road is a lifelong aspiration of every true Ijaw man. For more than half a century, we have prayed and desired for this road. His Excellency is indeed a visionary actualizer of dreams. He has made our dream come true” Goma said.

According to her, road is a key to accelerated development, hence it will  open up that section of the state to socio-economic advancement and promote security.

She called on the people of the state to continue to cooperate with the Dickson led government  to ensure the holistic development of the state.
