Shell says allegations of involvement in ‘Oil theft’ at its Terminal is misleading

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) says allegations of involvement in oil theft at its Bonny Crude Export Terminal was misleading.



A 2 million barrels crude deficit between 2016 and 2018 reported at the Bonny terminal operated by SPDC has caused a dispute amongst several oil firms that use the oil export facility.



Aiteo Exploration and Production Company claimed that SPDC shortchanged it of 1,022,029 barrels of crude while using the Bonny Crude Export Terminal operated by SPDC between 2016 and 2018.

Marginal Oilfields licencing: Court adjourns suit by Ijaw Leaders

The Federal High Court Yenagoa, on Friday adjourned a suit by Ijaw leaders seeking to halt the process leading to licensing for marginal oilfields located in their domains pending the determination of their  suit.

 

The Suit marked No, PHC/YEN/CS/81/2020 was filed by Chief Brown Agu (Opu Agu VIII), Mrs Rosemary John-Oduone President Ijaw Women Connect and Mr Femowei Friend.

 

The presiding judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro adjourned the case to March 10 for a continuation of hearing following an appeal by the defense counsel Idris Imam for time to respond to a motion.

Aiteo says Shell short changed it of 1.02 million barrels crude

Aiteo Exploration and Production Company, has claimed that Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) shortchanged it of 1,022,029 barrels of crude while using the Bonny Crude Export Terminal operated by SPDC.



According to court records sighted on Thursday, Aiteo, an indigenous oil firm which acquired OML 29 following SPDC’s divestment from the asset  approached a Federal High Court in Lagos to seek redress and refund.



OML 29, includes the 97 kilometer NCTL which has capacity to lift up to 180,000 barrels per day of crude from oilfields in Bayelsa and Rivers to the Bonny terminal.




Aiteo wants the court to resolve the disputed 2 million barrels crude deficit reported at the Bonny Oil Export terminal operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) amongst several oil firms that use the Bonny Terminal..

NCDMB lauds Total for FID on ‘Ikike Project’ despite delayed passage of PIB

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commended Total Exploration and Production (Total E & P) for its confidence in the Nigerian economy.

 

 

Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote made the commendation in a statement issued on Sunday. 

 

 

The statement was signed by Mr Naboth Onyesoh, Manager, Corporate Communications at NCDMB.

Health workers strike shuts Primary Healthcare in Bayelsa

The ongoing strike by Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Bayelsa Chapter has grounded Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.

The strike has hampered access to basic healthcare services like ante-natal for pregnant women and child immunisation at healthcentres across the eight council areas in Bayelsa.

The union which draws its membership mostly from primary health centres began an indefinite industrial action on Friday over non-payment of 15 months’ salary arrears.

Claims that SPDC underreported 2 million from 2016 to 2018 , false says DPR

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Friday dismissed reports that it uncovered ‘missing  2 million barrels of crude’ in oil production records between 2016 and 2018 as false.

 

The report had alleged that Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) which was allegedly found culpable had admitted the infraction and offered to refund the cost of the oil and pay a fine.

Nembe Monarchs warn youths against disrupting FG’s road projects

The Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa has condemned the activities of some errant youths who disrupted a Federal Government road project in the area.



The chiefs made the condemnation in a statement on Thursday signed by the Chairman, Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs, Oriango Oruwari and the Secretary of council, Chief Ivory Fikoru.



They said the youths had prevented the contractors from continuing with the construction of the road connecting Opume-Okoroba-Agrisaba and Ikensi group of communities.
