Chief Ideme Idege, traditional ruler of Otuegwe 1 community in Ogbia council area of Bayelsa State on Wesnesday applauded the Gov Douye Diri led administration in the State over ongoing massive development projects in Bayelsa Rural Communities.
Idege who
gave the commendation while speaking in an interview in Yenagoa on the rural
development policy of the current administration noted that rural dwellers now
have a sense of belonging.
He lauded
the government for deploying the N27 bn infrastructure refunds from the federal
government to projects spread across the state and urged the government to
consider his domain in subsequent projects.
The
traditional ruler highlighted the needs of his subjects to include the
construction of a befitting health centre, construction concrete walkways, and
the road from Akaba community in Yenagoa LGA to Okodi in Ogbia LGA.
The royal
father expressed optimism that the roads would unlock the economic potentials
of his domain by facilitating the evacuation of agricultural produce to vibrant
markets in the state capital and other parts of the state and beyond.
Ideme advised the people of Otuegwe 1 as well as the youths to avoid causing
crisis and rather engage in meaningful ventures, insisting, urging the youths
to shun restiveness and channel their energies to productive means.
