Accord Party Senate candidate for Bayelsa West alleges plot to rig

The Accord Party Party Senate candidate for Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Mr Owoupele Eneoriekumoh, on Thursday alleged that two leading political parties were planning to rig the forth coming Senatorial elections.

Eneoriekumoh made this known, while addressing journalists in Yenagoa, saying that the two dominant parties have concluded arrangements to rig him out of the Senatorial election slated for February 23, 2019.

He therefore appeal to the relevant authorities to take the information seriously and nib it on the bud and ensure a level playing ground for all candidates.

He urged security agencies to carry out the directive of President Muhamadu Buhari to the letter and ensure a level playing ground for all aspirants irrespective of party affiliations.

According to him, he has gathered information on plots by the two parties involved in hiring thugs and others mercenaries to hijack electoral materials to disenfranchise him and his supporters from partaking in the general elections.

He alleged that his life is also being threatened by unknown person in threatening phone calls adding that he is a man of peace and who wants to contribute his quota to the development of the constituency if elected.

He said that both dominant parties decided to impose unpopular candidates against the will of the people whiletrying to stifle and intimidate all other parties and their candidates out of the race.

He said that people of the constituency has vowed that they would not vote for any unpopular candidate saying that they will deploy their voting powers to resist rigging.

Eneoriekumoh lamented that he cannot move freely to carry out his campaigns due to the threats against his life and that of his supporters are equally exposed to threats.

He called on the people of the Bayelsa West Senatorial District not to be intimidated by the plot.

He urged the people to be resolute and come out enmasse to vote for the Accord Party.
