The Accord Party Party Senate candidate for Bayelsa West
Senatorial District, Mr Owoupele Eneoriekumoh, on Thursday alleged that two leading
political parties were planning to rig the forth coming Senatorial elections.
Eneoriekumoh made this known, while addressing journalists in Yenagoa,
saying that the two dominant parties have concluded arrangements to rig him out
of the Senatorial election slated for February 23, 2019.
He therefore appeal to the relevant authorities to take the
information seriously and nib it on the bud and ensure a level playing ground
for all candidates.
He urged security agencies to carry out the directive of
President Muhamadu Buhari to the letter and ensure a level playing ground for
all aspirants irrespective of party affiliations.
According to him, he has gathered information on plots by the two
parties involved in hiring thugs and others mercenaries to hijack electoral
materials to disenfranchise him and his supporters from partaking in the
general elections.
He alleged that his life is also being threatened by unknown person
in threatening phone calls adding that he is a man of peace and who wants to
contribute his quota to the development of the constituency if elected.
He said that both dominant parties decided to impose unpopular
candidates against the will of the people whiletrying to stifle and intimidate
all other parties and their candidates out of the race.
He said that people of the constituency has vowed that they
would not vote for any unpopular candidate saying that they will deploy their
voting powers to resist rigging.
Eneoriekumoh lamented that he cannot move freely to carry out his
campaigns due to the threats against his life and that of his supporters are
equally exposed to threats.
He called on the people of the Bayelsa West Senatorial District
not to be intimidated by the plot.
He urged the people to be resolute and come out enmasse to vote
for the Accord Party.
