Shortage of ballot papers: Resilient voters protest forces INEC to shift election in Yenagoa LGA to Sunday


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has postponed the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Yenagoa, which held across the nation on Saturday to Sunday.


INEC announced the postponement in a statement issued Saturday night and signed by Mr Wilfred Ifoga, Head of Voter Education and Publicity.


The affected Registration Areas are, Epie I and Epie III, Gbarain II and Okordia.

Oloibiri Museum Project: President Buhari Tasks Contractors, Host Communities On Delivery.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the major contractors handling the Oloibiri Museum and Research Centre as well as the Local Content Conference Hotel to deliver both projects according to specifications and timelines meant for their completion.


To this end, he directed Julius Berger, the Contractors handling the Oloibiri Museum and MegaStar Technical and Construction Company Limited in charge of the NCDMB Conference Hotel to carry their host communities along in executing the projects.


President Buhari gave the directives, on Tuesday, at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Museum and Research Centre at Otuabagi in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.


Bayelsa Education Trust Fund equips 12 Schools with computers, kits for coding and robotics

The Bayelsa Educational Development Trust Fund (EDTF) on Wednesday distributed computers and accessories for coding and robotics practicals to 12 model schools across the right local governments in Bayelsa.


Dr Gentle Emelah, Commissioner for Education in Bayelsa , who presented the items to benefitting school principals, reiterated the commitment of the state government to providing quality education in all parts of the state.

Mr Sam Enudi, a New York based Nigerian says his book “Work in Progress” provided a multidimensional approach to solving everyday life struggles.


Enudi said in an interview on Thursday that his interest in seeking a way out of troubles and life's challenges culminated into writing the book.


The Bayelsa Government on Wednesday dissociated itself from a list of 10 state governments opposing the naira redesign policy and restated its support to the Federal Government on the exercise.

The government in a statement issued in Yenagoa, demanded apology from a group of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under the aegis of the Civil Society Organisations Central Coordinating Council.

The statement distancing Bayelsa from opposing the new policy was signed by Mr Ayibaina Duba, Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy.

So, he headed for a nearby ATM centre for some cash withdrawal where unknown to him, a predator ATM scammer was lurking in the background.

“I had an unfortunate experience trying to get cash at a Zenith Bank Branch at Amarata in Yenagoa.

“That day was a sad day for me as I was defrauded. All my savings in the bank was cleared by one dubious character.
