OML 29 Operator, Aiteo restructures appoints new Executives


The management of Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production, has announced the appointment of senior executives to drive the operations of the indigenous oil firm.

According to a statement issued by Aiteo's Spokesman on Saturday the exercise follows a review of its operational and investment objectives and in reaction to prevailing business environment.

The statement made available on Saturday revealed that, Aiteo has restructured its executive management, naming a number of critical appointments and reassignments.

NCTL fire: 6 Oil Thieves, Vandals died in the inferno - JTF Commander

Rear Admiral Akinjidie Akinrinade, Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) deployed to the Niger Delta on ARRIVAL AT AWOBA, IN RIVERS SCENE OF A FIRE DISASTER AT NEMBE CREEK TRUNK LINE, SIx SUSPECTED PIPELINE VANDALS REPORTEDLY DIED IN THE INFERNO.



The masterminds of the April 21 fire outbreak at OML 29 oilfields operated by Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production were burnt to death.

Rear Admiral Akinjidie Akinrinade, Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) deployed to the Niger Delta disclosed this shortly after inspecting the incident site at Awoba area along the 97 kilometer Nembe-Bonny oil export pipeline.

The Commander visited the site of the explosion where the fire destroyed vegetation stretching to hundreds of meters along with Rear Admiral David Adeniran, Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command.

Akinrinade who expressed regret at the development which led to the outage of the 150,000 barrels per day Nembe Creek Trunk Line noted that troops of the joint force deployed to the area responded immediately the incident occurred.

Jealous lover shoots girlfriend to death in Nembe Bayelsa over suspicion of cheating


A jealous boyfriend identified, Munabo Tonworio at Oluasiri in Nembe Local Government Area has shot and killed his girlfriend over suspicion of cheating. 

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday night at about 11:00pm. 

Tonworio, 28, an indigene of Agada-Ama community in Nembe Local Government area, reportedly shot his girl friend in the face, while she was answering a call from an unidentified person. 

Mr Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command confirmed the development.

N/Delta Group commends Kachikwu for taking Nigeria’s oil sector to enviable heights


Niger Delta Youth Coalition for Peace and Progress (NDYCPP) on Sunday applauded Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu for transforming the Nigerian oil sector.


The NDYCPP, a group of Youth leaders from the Nine States of Niger Delta region noted that under Kachickwu, Nigeria became an influential member of OPEC and secured increased quota for the country to earn more from oil sales.

They said that the election of Kachikwu recently for a record time as President of African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) was an indication of the respect the country currently commands under President Muhammed Buhari.

Pastor Tiedo Olayinka-Jude, President, NDYCPP who made the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, said the group plans to hold a reception to celebrate Kachikwu’s achievements.

Ex TUC boss wants govt.to enhance efforts in supporting Nigerians abroad

Mr Peter Esele, a former  President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC)  says   Nigeria should enhance efforts at supporting its citizens  abroad.

Esele in Benin on Sunday,  said this had become imperative in view of the recent report of five Nigerians arrested for armed robbery in Dubai and the response by Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the  Senior Special Assistant to the President  on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.

According to him: , “Though I am not justifying crime in any form, but when you name, shame and humiliate the so-called guilty, you make it harder for others, even the innocent to be respected and treated with dignity abroad,”.

Niger Delta Youths applaud outgoing JTF Commander for combating oil theft

Niger Delta Youth leaders on Sunday said that the strategies deployed by the Joint Task Force (JTF) in fighting oil theft has saved the nation from economic losses running into billions on naira.



The youths noted that the effective and efficient leadership of the out-going field-commander of JTF, Rear Admiral Suleiman Apochi had curbed oil theft and vandalism of oil infrastructure in the past three years.



The youths, under the auspices of the Niger Delta Youth Coalition for Peace and Progress (NDYCPP) commended the tactics deployed by Apochi to curb the perennial sabotaging criminal activities of oil-bunkerers, pipeline vandals.

Oil Theft: JTF, surveillance contractors intensify crackdown, seize vessels

A joint operation by troops of the joint military force deployed to protect oil facilities in the Niger Delta has resulted to seized of a thug boat 'Aya Oba Olori II and a barge Christened 'Rampage 13' was laden with over 200,000 litres of suspected stolen crude.


Residents in Bayelsa coastal Communities, Wednesday applauded the collaboration between the Joint Task Force (JTF) deployed to the Niger Delta and Surveillance contractors for tacking oil theft.


Chief Dona Biena, a Community leader at Akassa in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa said that the renewed effort was putting oil theft in check.
